WOW! What a busy couple of months we’ve had!
Congratulations to the team of Justin Lyons, Ash Hogan & Dan Millard who took out first place in the teams category at the Dam Dark 12 Hour in Townsville. They boys clocked up 34 laps in the 12 hours beating teams of two, three and four persons!
Thank you to every WMTBC member involved in The Dirty Molle Island Escape – our guests from Mackay, Townsville and Moranbah were all blown away by your hospitality – complementing us for being welcoming, friendly and informative. The weekend was a huge success and we cannot wait to hold it again in 2014.
Save the dates:
Sunday December 1: Social Ride at Cathu State Forest in conjunction with Mackay MTBC. More details will be send out as they get firmed up.
Friday December 6: Christmas Lights Social Ride. This will involve an easy cruise on the footpaths to visit festively decorated homes in Airlie/Cannonvale. Kids are welcome – everyone is encouraged to dress up your bike or person with lights and tinsel and join us for some fun and a festive drink after. Details for this event are also being worked on and more information will be sent out soon.
We have set a statement of intent to direct us for 2014.
Mick Sorley has been consulting with National Parks to improve the condition of the Honey Eater trail and water management system.
Chris Labes is working on our Commercial Activity Application for use of the National Parks in 2014.
Regional Development Grants are open now so we will be working on our proposal over the wet season, closes in February.
